Re-purposing tip#1

Every so often you have something laying around that you just don't need, if you use only as directed that is. As it turns out you can use that what ever the hell it is. You know what I'm talking about, re-purposing. Today I'm going to re-purpose a couple drill stops to couple two shafts with different diameters. The drill stops can be copped at Harbor Freight for under $2 a set. Hopefully you'll have the size stops you need to pull off this handy little hack, if not you can always break out the tubing and hose clamps. First you need to get yourself a stop for each shaft and stack them one on top of the other. Next, look down into the larger hole and eyeball the two so they run concentric. This is for my bad ass Etch-a-Sketch so concentricity isn't terribly important, if it were a little more effort would be in order for this step. While your holding your re-purposed stops in the position you want them to be in, just take a toothpick and dab JB Weld all around the outside where the two meet. JB Weld is fairly thick, so you will probably be able to handle them easily after you goober it up good.
